Maria Cornejo

Seven2: Michael Hemy; All others from the companies

6. All eyes are on Hakaan discount oakley sunglasses, the Turkish designer making his London debut with the famed fashion photographer Mert Alas as his creative director. Winner of the lucrative Andam fashion award in Paris this year, Hakkan is the latest to hark back to the clean, architectural lines of the ’90s discount oakley sunglasses, with a few curvy, body-conscious dresses thrown in for good measure(ments). At Opening Ceremony in New York and Harvey Nichols in London.

4. It doesn’t get more French than Carven, the 65-year-old label revived this year by Guillaume Henry. Formerly of Givenchy, the designer drew inspiration from Madame Carven herself and the films of the New Wave director Claude Chabrol. Translation: vaguely ’60s, uniquely Parisian chic. The highlight was a professor’s blazer and an extrashort pouf skirt worn with a black cashmere bra. At Barneys New York.

1. Cerruti, the house that began as a textile mill in 1881 and became known for outfitting major Hollywood films a century later, also has a new man at the helm. For fall, the British designer Richard Nicoll dresses his ladies for drama (belted coats, leather shell tops, wool capelets over pencil skirts) or rom-coms (diaphanous silks, floral prints, gauzy angora). 2. After a five-year stint with Olivier Theyskens at Rochas and Nina Ricci discount oakley sunglasses, Calla Haynes has ventured out on her own. Specializing in prints — the basis of each collection — Haynes gives the delicate chiffons of her fall collection the subtle impression of smudged paint, but more ethereal and less accidental-looking. At Debut in New York.

3. The Zero designer Maria Cornejo is one of New York’s few avant-gardists. For her shoe collaboration with George Esquivel, she eschewed high heels in favor of more androgynous black combat boots and newsboy lace-ups. Note the incongruous leather detail that, when side by side, forms a continuous line. At both Zero + Maria Cornejo stores in New York.

5. For his first collection as the newest designer of Halston, Marios Schwab returned to the late master’s heyday — the glam 1970s — with shimmering, disco-ready jewel tones and pared-down satin gowns. Bringing the retro message home, the Londoner opted for an abstract design inspired by the bedroom in ‘‘Eyes of Laura Mars.’’ Go to net-a-porter.com.

7. For her second collection, the ex-model and sometime D.J. Mandy Coon unites two extremes — silky, flesh-colored silks and intimidating black leather — to create an ultramodern look. Her superchunky, body-swallowing knits recall the biomorphic shapes of the local sculptor Pamela Sunday. At Opening Ceremony in New York.
